Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 at Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onesti] Romania). She was first gymnast to score a perfect 10 during an Olympic occasion. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci when she was six. Later, she would become Romania's gymnastics coach. At first, she competed in the national junior championships in Romania in 1969, she was 13th. And in 1970, was crowned champion. In her first international competition in 1972 a pre-Olympic junior event for countries of the communist bloc she took home three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974 she became an all-around junior champion. Her debut as a senior in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva. She was the five-time European champion, winning four golds and one argent. The first female to perform a reverse double salo with the parallel bar that was uneven after winning the American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her career in the entertainment business in her teens. Her career began with her joining Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling show of entertainment. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performances.
